Motion Poster
2024
This project explores the intersection of traditional poster design and motion graphics, transforming a static visual into a dynamic, immersive experience. Through subtle yet impactful animations, the motion poster captures attention and elevates the storytelling potential of graphic design. At the core of the piece is a meticulously crafted 3D statue, designed to serve as a focal point. This digital sculpture was seamlessly integrated into the composition, accompanied by bold typography and symbolic elements that enhance the overall narrative. Inspired by Japanese aesthetics, the design features a striking red circle reminiscent of the Japanese flag, paired with a black-and-white rendition of Osaka Castle—an image captured on film during a visit to Japan. Each element was thoughtfully animated using Blender and Adobe After Effects, bringing movement and depth to the composition. The typography, set in Impact, was further enhanced with stretching, motion effects, and Venetian blinds to create a retro, screen-like texture. Subtle glow effects add to the cinematic feel, reinforcing the fusion of modern and nostalgic visual styles. Sound design played a crucial role in enriching the experience. Each motion was paired with a carefully selected sound effect, from the soft swoosh of the rotating statue to the distinct textures of sliding doors and stretching materials embedded within the typography. These audio elements were precisely layered in Adobe Premiere Pro, ensuring a synchronized and engaging audiovisual presentation. The process of collaborating with 3D artists and motion designers, experimenting with software, and pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling has sparked a deeper passion for motion design—one that continues to inspire future projects.
