Urban Relics: A Graffiti-Infused Poster Series

Poster Design

2024

A bold exploration of street art aesthetics and classical statues, blending history with contemporary urban expression. This project reimagines historical sculptures through a series of three A3 posters, incorporating graffiti elements, digital manipulation, and industrial design techniques. Each poster transforms its subject with carefully placed graffiti text, vibrant color choices, and playful interventions—such as a traffic cone atop a statue’s head, a nod to modern urban culture. Using a combination of noise, halftone, and threshold effects, the images take on a raw, textured appearance, enhancing their street-art feel. A mix of typefaces, including ‘Fit’ for bold timestamps and ‘Copperplate Gothic Bold’ for detailed text, adds depth and movement, ensuring the viewer's eye continuously explores the composition. Pixelated symbols, scanned packaging stickers, and intricate lighting adjustments bring an added layer of storytelling, making these posters more than just visual pieces—they capture the evolving relationship between public art and cultural reinterpretation. This series stands as a testament to the fusion of tradition and rebellion, where classical forms meet the ever-changing language of the streets.
