Motion
2024
This motion piece explores the dynamic representation of statues through a unique 360-degree visual composition. Captured through extensive photographic documentation, the project layers multiple perspectives of various statues, seamlessly aligning them using a precise focal point—their noses. The result is a striking motion sequence that brings together these still figures in an immersive and fluid animation. A crucial element of the project is its atmospheric sound design. Without relying on music, the composition is built from a curated selection of sound effects, including bells, typewriters, trains, camera shutters, and industrial noises. Some of these sounds were recorded on-site, adding an authentic sense of place and environment, while others were sourced externally to complement the piece. The blend of visuals and sound crafts an experience that transports the viewer into the ambiance surrounding these statues. This project not only challenged conventional approaches to motion work but also opened the door to future explorations in experimental animation and sound-driven storytelling.
